Founded in 1963, Children's Holiday Venture (CHV) is a volunteering society and registered charity run by students from the University of Edinburgh. Our mission is to see each child be unlimited by their socio-economic background and feel confident to reach their full potential, whatever that may be. We work with approximately 90 children between the ages of 8-16 from Niddrie, Craigmillar, Bingham, Pilton, Muirhouse and Granton. The children are referred to us by teachers and social workers who feel that CHV can enhance the child's development in some way. Our dedicated team of student volunteers and drivers take children to fun activities that include pottery painting, swimming, trampolining, bowling, movie nights and more. We are always striving to deliver even more fun activities and rely solely on charitable donations from grants and fundraisers to do this.Edinburgh University Children's Holiday Venture is a registered charity in Scotland (SC007496)
