Since 1976, Edmonton Immigrant Services Association (EISA) has been serving immigrants, refugees, and first-generation Canadian citizens. Our service goal is to make our clients feel welcomed and integrated as they settle or resettle in the Greater Edmonton Area. -Our Settlement Workers in School (SWIS) and Library Settlement Programs provide easy access to our services in the newcomer and refugee clients' community schools and libraries by developing a partnership with the Edmonton Public Schools, Edmonton Catholic Schools, and public libraries in Edmonton, Strathcona County, St. Albert, and Fort Saskatchewan. -We provide services to clients of all immigration categories. Our New Neighbours Program and Supporting Newcomer Integration Project support Refugee Claimants, Naturalized Canadian Citizens, International Students, and Temporary Foreign Workers. -We assist clients of different age groups in integrating and networking by organizing cultural celebration events and field trips. Our Children and Youth Settlement Services provide academic support and mentorship for school-aged immigrants. -We facilitate Level 3 to Level 5 adult ESL classes in multiple locations in Edmonton. -In addition to needs assessments and referrals, newcomer orientations and information sessions, and family and well-being support, we also provide translation services to support the client's settlement and resettlement goals. -Collaborating with community partners and sister agencies, we are a participating agency of several initiatives and projects.
