The Education Council of Ceará (CEE) was established by Law No. 463, of January 21, 1949. It is an autonomous entity under direct administration of the State and has as main purpose to interpret federal and state legislation and fit them into the education system of the state.The CEE is the legislative, deliberative and advisory Organ of Educational System of the the Brazilian State of Ceará (art. 230 of the Constitution of the State).It is also responsible for the accreditation of the educational institutions in Ceará.Its action covers:The Primary, Secondary and Professional Education and Higher Education (Higher Education Institutions maintained by the State Government).According to State Law 13.875/2007, the CEE has the following powers:Standardize the education of the state.Interpret the Education laws.Apply sanctions.Approve the State Education Plan for resources application for education.Authorize operation of teaching in schools and assess its quality.Other competences:Avaliate the educational to promote significant changes and teaching quality improvement.Monitor the implementation of the curriculum, with the purpose of helping each teacher in the classroom to effectively perform theirs task.Contribute to the public and private sectors to upgrade the educational processes while developing technological innovations.Work along side the family, school and society at the service of each student.
