Nonprofit Organization Management - Novi Sad, Vojvodina, Serbia
EESTEC (Electrical Engineering STudents European assoCiation) is a non-profit, non-political, student NGO aiming to make connections between students of electrical engineering and computing throughout Europe by organising international workshops and seminars, exchanges and providing internships. The goal of the association is also to connect and introduce students with the development of industry and modern trends in their areas of expertise. The association was established in 1986 and currently consists of 40 local committees (LCs) in 22 countries all over Europe. EESTEC LC Novi Sad is a local committee set up in 2001 at the congress in London. Our committee gathers students of the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad, from the departments of electrical engineering and computing, as well as mechatronics. Since the membership in EESTEC yields responsibilities and obligations, not being only ?on paper?, EESTEC LC Novi Sad with its over 150 members is one of the most numerous and the most active local committees. With 12 organized exchanges and 6 workshops so far, over 160 colleagues from European technical universities were hosted, while nearly 200 domestic students were being sent all over Europe. With the expansion of the scope of its activities, EESTEC LC Novi Sad in the last three years has become very active locally. With great cooperation with companies and the Faculty, two major programming contests and two successful job fairs KONTEH 06 and KONTEH 07 were organized. On the mentioned job fair, completely volunteraly, nearly 80 members of the committee were fulfilling their duties. In a great atmosphere the organization of the job fair KONTEH 08 has been announced. In these years EESTEC has had full support from the University of Novi Sad, the Faculty of technical sciences, Provincial secretariat for sports and youth and Provincial secretariat for education and culture.
