My family practiced meditation and I was taught to meditate. This practice led me to India, where I studied and lived for four years when I was an adolescent. It took me many years further down the road in my life to understand the profound effect of yoga asana, since as young person I was very able and flexible and thought, " what does this physical practice really give?"Yoga asana gives us mental clarity, and poise. A sense of calm and ease in the body no matter what your age is. These asanas help take away stiffness from over-exertion in sports and remove mental exhaustion from our daily lives.Vairagya Eiger has been a practicing teacher for over 17 years and is a graduate of the Iyengar Yoga Institute of San Francisco as well as being Certified in Gyrotonic®, www.gyrotonic.com and Pilates, www.pilates.com. Vairagya continues to study with her teachers.
