Food & Beverages - Melbourne, Victoria, Australia
The story of Eighteen Thousand Islands began in the summer of 2002, when we set up our charcoal grill every Wednesday night at the Queen Victoria Night Market. To say it was busy would be an understatement. We had massive queues waiting to taste our delicious peanut sauce - our grandmother's recipe from West Java. It was so successful we opened two hugely popular satay eateries in the Melbourne CBD, which we later sold in 2012. Whilst satay may be our first love, we look forward to exploring and sharing more Indonesian food - and our grandmother's cooking - with Australia.
