Founded in 2016, the International Summit for Leadership in Engineering is an annual program which mission is to engage engineering students of different nationalities and from global-wide universities in the development of innovative and intelligent solutions to the problems faced by Brazilian cities.Every year, the program brings together around 50 undergraduate and graduate students from partner international universities for a one-week course at University of São Paulo that gives them the opportunity to study key issues in smart city concept and its applicability in Brazilians municipalities. After the week together, the students develop smart cities projects in collaboration with city halls of partners cities.Considered a pioneer program in Brazil, EILE has the support of several national and foreign institutions, such as: the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations and Communications of Brazil; the Consulate General of Portugal in São Paulo; the Council of Rectors of Portuguese Universities; and the City Halls of the Brazilians Municipalities of Santos and São Carlos.
