Eina Ahluwalia jewellery is our personal and social activism, created from the soul and inspired by life. Our themes revolve around feminism and spirituality. For us the pieces are a sublimated outrage, despair, hope, humour and utopian idealism. Rooted in traditional craft and hand made as a philosophy, we work with master craftsmen to create intricate and detailed fretwork with a soul that cannot be matched by machines. It is also our secret crusade to subvert the paradigm of jewellery as a means of ornamentation loaded with patriarchal symbolisers, a way to appear more beautiful to the other; and reclaim and redefine jewellery as a woman's way of expressing her independent identity, as a symbol of empowerment, purely for her own enjoyment, as a celebration of herself."Eina trained under the pioneering conceptual jewellery artist Ruudt Peters in Holland, and studied at Alchimia Contemporary Jewellery School in Florence. David Lamb - MD, Jewellery at World Gold Council picked her as one of the hottest talents to watch out for. Her label is a regular at Lakme Fashion Week, Mumbai with independent runway shows and installations since 2009, and has been featured in magazines such as British Vogue, CR Fashion Book by Carine Roitfeld, InStyle UK, Stylist Magazine UK, Her World Singapore, Madame Figaro France, Zeit Magazine Germany, Marie Claire, Harper's Bazaar, Elle, Grazia, Cosmopolitan, Vogue, etc.Her jewellery has been worn by former Miss World Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, model Dree Hemingway, British singer Delilah, founder of New York Fashion Week founder Fern Mallis, and Indian film industry A-listers such as Freida Pinto, Katrina Kaif, Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Priyanka Chopra and more. Eina has showcased at the ‘Hot Under The Collar' Exhibition at the SNAG conference, 2012 (Society of North American Goldsmiths), and her Kirpan Necklace is featured in Lark Book Publishers collectors series ‘500 Art Necklaces'.
