The duty of the Assessor/Recorder/Clerk is much more than recording documents, issuing marriage licenses, and valuing property. It is a commitment to over three million San Diego County residents; to provide funding for important County services, to facilitate real property transfers, often a person's largest financial investment, and to assist residents document the major events in their lives such as birth and marriage. I envision an Assessor's office that goes above and beyond their State mandated duties. I will act as your advocate and will insure that you will never pay more in property tax than you are legally responsible for. I will work with our State legislators to protect Proposition 13. And above all I will always maintain the highest degree of fiscal responsibility.
