Founded in 2017 by Hunt & Crest, a startup studio building early stage ventures for creative influencers, and legendary DJ / Producer Paul Oakenfold, The EM Awards is an award show celebrating the global electronic music community. From underground to crossover, Diplo to Carl Cox, EDC to Output, USA to UK to Mexico to China, the EM Awards celebrates DJs, Producers, Live Acts, Festivals, Clubs, and more throughout the multitude of sub genres the industry holds. With the intent of challenging the traditional award show model, the EM Awards team created a multi stage, multi live-streamed award show event with no sitting down, no acceptance speeches, and roaming hosts guiding the viewer throughout the entirety of the venue grounds. The EM Awards celebrates the electronic music community in a way reflective of the community itself; it's a dance party.In addition to creating a new award show model, The EM Awards looks to be a thought leader and global voice for the electronic music community. The goal has been and will always be to unite in celebration. In the inaugural year, the EM Awards was live streamed on Twitter garnering over 3.4 million views in just over 2 hours and was one of the most watched debuts of any award show. It was also the first ever event to live stream key performances in 360 on Twitter.
