Construction - , Ohio, United States
Elgin Service Center has been involved in the rural construction business in Northwest Ohio for over four decades. The early years were primarily devoted to providing farmers with on-farm grain storage and handling equipment. As farms and equipment began to change and increase in size, a need developed for new structures to house the larger machinery. Early on that need was satisfied with pole buildings. But many of Elgin's customers were concerned with the quality and longevity of these buildings. In the 1970's Elgin Service Center contracted an engineering firm to begin work on that project. The challenge was to engineer a building with the strength and durability of the commercial all steel building, but keep the cost in line with the pole building industry. What developed was the "K" Building; a building system that uses steel main framing for superior strength and wood purlins and girts to keep the costs in line with the competition. As the "K" Building has now evolved into a business of it's own, Elgin Service Center still remains true to the commitment to offer the absolute best products in farm grain storage handling equipment. We are recognized as a Sukup distributor and are proud to distribute many other fine grain handling products from DMC and Hutchinson.
