Ella pads: A feminine hygiene product from garments factory scrapsa. Ella pad is now known to 5000 export oriented factories having 4 million workers because of creating positive impact at the sector. So far three leading garment and textile factories successful implemented Ella project at their factories. Small Garments Manufacturers Association with members of 150 garments have signed an MOU to introduce Ella at their factories. The pioneering textile industries like Beximco, Pakiza and DBL have already started to work with Ella pads. Michigan State University, USA is supporting as its research and documentation activities. d. Introducing the Ella pads, the factories have successfully reduced the absenteeism. Earlier workers were used to remain absent 2-3 days in a month without notice and now they have been regular. Getting access to our low-cost Ella pads, workers' productivity have improved at significant level. Workers are working attentively even during their heavy follow days. During our pilot program, it was estimated that about 3000 days per month the factories saved just because of introducing Ella pads. c. A low-cost sanitary napkin like Ella pads are being made reusing the scraps or waste of the garment factories. It is a green product made by the workers of the factories initially for themselves and surplus goes to other fellow workers and family members, if needed. Currently, more than 1,000 female workers at three garment factories are using their own Ella sanitary napkins. Ella is addressing at least 12 out of 17 Sustainable Development Goals addressing triple bottom lines just making a single product.
