Ranching - Orrville, Ohio, United States
Elm Run Farms has been family owned since its purchase in 1893. Over the course of 120 years the 200 acre farm has seen many changes in what has been grown or raised. Fifth-generation owner, Ken Ressler, has returned the focus back to the basics of healthy and sustainable farming. Ken has many years of experience as a cattle nutrition consultant and has seen first-hand the importance that proper nutrition has in raising healthy cattle. Elm Run Farms operates on the philosophy that food should be consumed as close to how it was raised or grown as possible. This is done through sustainable farming practices and by producing naturally raised, minimally processed food. Elm Run Farms raises 100% grass fed beef. Cows are never given grain—even during the cold and snowy Ohio winters. Chickens are pasture-raised and given only non-GMO feed. No chemical fertilizers are used on Elm Run Farms pastures.
