In these uncertain times many companies have a tendency to cut expenses and delay capital investments. At Elpa we believe we should show leadership and be proactive. Since 2007, Elpa has invested in excess of $2 million in new equipment. This is massive considering the size of our Company. We have teamed up with our financial institution that actively supports our long term goals. Our latest acquisition is a Mori-Seiki SL-603BMC/3000 lathe. This lathe is, without any doubt, the best machine in its class. This lathe is praised for its precision, repeatability, rigidity and power. This acquisition will open up new and challenging markets for Elpa. We are seeking work in the energy, rail, military and heavy equipment industry We are now registered with the Controlled Goods Directorate (CDG). This will enable us to pursue clients in the aerospace, defense and satellite industries. This summer we have started the implementation of an ISO 9001:2008 quality management system. We expect to be accredited by the end of 2009. In order to improve our quality, profitability and lead times, we have acquired the ‘'E2 Shop System'' ERP software. The full system has been implemented since the summer of 2008. The quality module has been added this summer. We have just purchased two seats of top of the line CAD-CAM programming software, TopSolid. We have also invested heavily in training our employees to work with the latest technologies. I am proud to say that we have the best skills in the business. Since October 2007, we have added a second shift. This decision was made to add machining capacity and to improve lead times. Because of this, we can respond faster to emergencies and at a lower cost to our clients.
