Background EMA is the evolution of COPE UK which was the sister arm of COPE (Council of Protocol Executives) an association specifically for in-house based planners. We have hosted over 20 events in venues such as; Harrods, The Ivy, The Corinthian, Baglioni, Landmark, The Oval, Spencer House, Mandarin Oriental, Café Royal, Me Our Evolution Following a strategic away day at the beginning of 2013 the UK Steering Committee set a mission, goals and aspirations for what they felt the industry needed and what they wanted the organisation to represent. From this came our Mission Statement and it's four supporting pillars through which we will deliver. Mission Statement; To be the UK's leading association for 'in-house' event professionals. Supported and delivered through the following four pillars: 1. Events - To provide a forum for knowledge sharing, learning, mentoring and networking 2. Development - To be at the fore of the professionalization of the events industry 3. Standards - To promote and champion industry best practice 4. Position - To be the industry voice for the corporate event world At this point we also chose to re brand and re position, to something that resonated more in the market and represented who we were and what we did. As such the Event Marketing Association was born, EMA for short. What differentiates us from other networking groups is our focus on one sector – in-house corporate event marketers. Our commitment to education and learning, best practice and industry recognition. We are here to represent, support and champion our members. Share knowledge, expertise and experiences. Our LOGO;- the expanding circles on our logo represent growth and development; an expanding network, expanding knowledge, which translates into ‘Circle of Excellence' - our tag line.
