She is particularly passionate about advocating for minority and marginalised communities, focusing on young LGBTIQA+ and CALD people. Emily has a diverse portfolio within the mental health and social justice sectors. She currently works with several organisations including Orygen, headspace, Beyond Blue, ReachOut, the Centre for Multicultural Youth, the Black Dog Institute, the Butterfly Foundation, and the Mental Health Foundation of Australia. To assist with her work, she has obtained a postgraduate in Psychology and a Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work. In all her roles, Emily has advocated for the importance of diverse lived experiences, ensuring that a broad cross-section of views is represented. Additionally, she has identified, facilitated, developed, and implemented new opportunities for lived experience engagement. Emily also has professional experience as a full-stack software developer. Upon completing a Bachelor in Computer Science, Emily has held technological roles across a variety of industries, including engineering consulting, medical health records, and graduate research. She continues to mentor young women in programming and is passionate about changing gender norms within STEM. Additionally, Emily is a multidisciplinary creative. She has held numerous leadership positions in graphic design, specialising in the development of brand identities. She has worked directly with over 150 clients from their conception to implementation. She also has professional experience and won awards within digital arts, music composition, visual arts, fashion, and literature. The consistent factor throughout Emily's journey is her passion to create experiences that help people. She endeavours to use both her professional and lived experience to help design a world for all people, regardless of background, identity, or neurodiversity.
