I'm a highly experienced multi-disciplinary graphic designer, art director and illustrator with extensive experience of working in the book publishing industry. In addition to managing junior designers and interns, as well as external support (such as freelancers and photographers), I'm adept at sourcing, commissioning, briefing and managing freelance designers, illustrators, picture-researchers and photographers. I'm responsible for ensuring that workflows run smoothly, and that all creative work meets the required standards in order to maintain brand equity. This involves overseeing all aspects of content creation from initial concept through to print-ready files, ensuring that projects are always delivered on time and within budget. Accustomed to working to tight deadlines in fast-paced environments, I'm adept at managing multiple projects simultaneously across a variety of genres (including food & drink, health & beauty, MBS, reference and arts & crafts) – demonstrating my ability to work efficiently, even under pressure. Highly organised, self-motivated and proactive, I'm an articulate communicator and collaborative team-player.A skilled user of InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Bridge, Word and Greenlight, I also have knowledge of XD, html, CSS, After Effects, Excel and PowerPoint. In addition to creating innovative and eye-catching design concepts, my role also requires me to identify and action any necessary repro work, pre-flight and create print-ready PDFs, organise and check colour proofs, build schedules and budgets, create sales material, manage reprints and backlist titles, raise contracts and coordinate the archiving of all assets. Furthermore, as an accomplished art director for photography shoots, I manage all aspects of the process; from conceptualising the "look" of the shots and commissioning photographers, to sourcing locations/props/backgrounds, styling the products, handling logistics and running the entire shoot day.
