Founded in faith in 1976, Emmanuel House exists to support homeless, vulnerable or isolated adults in and around Nottingham. We provide diverse and accessible services that meet basic need and empower individuals to make positive changes in their lives. We welcome between 60-90 visitors each weekday and 30-50 on weekends. This equates to almost 2000 visits a month, with approximately 200 new visitors each year, all of whom have complex and multiple needs. With roughly 70 hot meals a day being served, we provide the basic needs for homeless & vulnerably housed adults in Nottingham. We also provide further support and services including tenancies, benefits, mental health support, training and workshops, drug & alcohol support, a daily nurse and a core programme of social activities. We also have an onsite charity shop, which provides much needed income for Emmanuel House and a place for service users to gain first hand work experience. Our Winter Shelter runs between the winter months of November to March providing approximately 37 beds per night to rough-sleeping individuals. Individual needs are assessed at Emmanuel House where individuals, if necessary, are referred to this temporary accommodation provided in local church halls. With no statutory funding, we rely on donations from individuals, schools, fundraising and businesses to continue providing much needed support and services to the homeless & vulnerably housed in Nottingham.
