The Empire State Medical Association (ESMA) is the New York affiliate of The National Medical Association (NMA) which promotes the collective interests of physicians and patients of African descent. The ESMA carries out this mission by serving as the collective voice of physicians of African descent and a leading force for equity in medicine, elimination of health and health care disparities, and promotion of optimal health. The ESMA comprises of local New York Affiliates of the National Medical Association, which include: Manhattan Central Medical Society Clinical Society of Queens and Long Island Provident Medical Society of Brooklyn Susan B. Smith McKinney Medical Society NMA Buffalo Affiliate
