25 years at the sharp end of national newspapers has failed to destroy totally the lessons learned - simply, I try to be quicker than most at discovering the bleeding obvious. After some adventurous years of running greyhound tracks, running Ski Shows, running around the world and running my disappointed mother round the bend. I joined the Daily Mail in 1981 (best thing that ever happened) taking on the Marketing and Promotions Department, became a Board Director in 1985 and subsequently did the same job on the Boards of The Mail On Sunday, London Evening Standard, London Metro, Associated New Media. In 1996 I was made a Main Board Director at Associated Newspapers. I left the Company in 2007. Since then I have done some consultancy work for the Mail, Daily and Sunday Telegraph, Hilton and Marriott. Quite successful for a time.
