Encounter Solutions Ltd is a New Zealand company. We aim to deliver cost effective and efficient wireless monitoring systems and applications for use across remote and rural landscapes. What motivates and drives us is to make a meaningful difference to biosphere integrity. This was a key reason the company was formed. Providing the ability to strengthen relationships with community and land owners became embedded in our development philosophy along the way.To actually deliver on these objectives requires commercially savvy thinking. We get that bit. We also get that integrity matters, that people are still people, and that they usually appreciate a pragmatic, get-on-with-it approach. So we started in our own back yard – literally. We can now offer a wireless communications and sensor network platform designed for deployment over large areas. By making efficient use of satellite technology it can operate virtually anywhere. Communicating over many kilometres, requiring very little power to do so and importantly not needing complex high-power radio equipment. This makes it readily portable and our sensor nodes are capable of operating on cheap small batteries for several years.Our platform is designed to be flexible and provide multi-purpose functionality. It is applicable for monitoring such things as trapping programs, on-farm systems, instrumentation and water related infrastructure such as culverts and storm water networks. Combined with specifically designed database, software and mobile applications, we can open up new, safer and more efficient and cost effective ways of monitoring and working in the landscape. Our solutions are highly adaptable, practical and user friendly to deploy and operate. We intend to make a tangible difference, doing something we and our kids can be proud of. Along the way we plan to have fun. Seriously.
