Oil & Energy - Marietta, Ohio, United States
Many students are more than disappointed with their current industry experience, especially in this market. To tackle this issue, we started a "simulated" petroleum company with the hopes that we could gain a fuller understanding of the energy industry than with academics alone. This fall (2015), the simulated private oil and gas company has now gone "public". This allows us to hire on new employees (a.k.a the student body) and give them roles within the company. We're trying to simulate the business environment as closely as possible -- of course without investing any actual capital. Put in layman terms, it's a "model UN" of an corporate energy company. We want the students involved in the program to get industry experience in their field, public speaking experience for corporate America, and an increased network. We are looking to increase the breadth of our technical knowledge by incorporating programs such as Aries, PhdWin, ARCGIS, AUTOcad, CMG, and other relevant softwares such as web design and data base networks for our IT Team. It is the mission of EBA that each of our members step foot on the job ready to work day one.
