The first step of an energy audit is an interior and exterior visual inspection of your home. We will also discuss any areas of concern with you. After the visual inspection, we will use a Blower Door test. This test (pictured below) will give you a numerical rating for your home's energy efficiency. It will also show us any non-visible areas of air infiltration and or ex-filtration that can be felt by hand during the blower door test. The closer the reading on the blower door test is to the square footage of your home, the more energy efficient your home is. After the audit, EnergyBell will give you a detailed booklet (with photos) on what energy deficiencies have been noted and what fixes we recommend.
