The problemThe Enermove company, established in May 2019, was born from the experience of the market for electric traction batteries of the entrepreneur Flavio Cavallo, who sought a technical solution to the problem of recharging the batteries of forklifts. The batteries used to power forklifts and trolleys, in the logistics systems, are of three types: acid lead, hermetic lead and lithium. The first ones create serious issues, since during the recharging phase they generate harmful gases and it is necessary to set up special recharging stations. The latter, despite solving this problem, necessarily require that the vehicle remain inoperative for several hours when charging. Same goes for the most modern and expensive lithium batteries.Currently one of the most used techniques to fill up with energy consists in replacing the exhausted pack with a fully charged one. This operation is extremely delicate and requires trained personnel. All this means waste of time and high costs. The solutionThe solution to the problem came from research conducted by Professor Paolo Guglielmi and researcher Vincenzo Cirimele of the Department of Energy of the Politecnico di Torino on wireless charging. Enermove technology consists in the creation of a charging path using coils installed under the pavement. The coils are powered to create high frequency magnetic fields, which are captured by a secondary coil installed on board the vehicle. The system allows the charge in both static and dynamic conditions. The vehicle, therefore, no longer needs to stop, then all the dangerous operations for replacing the batteries and idle time for recharging disappear, with a consequent saving of tens of thousands of euros per year. The system can be installed on any trolley and does not require the remaking of the electrical system.
