Our Reach:As of March 2017, Enfold had interacted with over 1,46,641 children (class I-X) and college youth, about 25416 teachers, parents and support staff, 2135 police, doctors, media and judicial personnel, 862 counsellors and social workers in over 30 cities in India.The Beginning: Enfold Proactive Health Trust was founded in 2002 by Dr. Sangeeta Saksena and Dr. Shaibya Saldanha in response to the silence and apathy around gender-based violence and child sexual abuse. They could see the effect of this trauma on their patients in their day to day practice as gynaecologists. They felt that the lack of social discourse on sexuality and all its ramifications was harmful to all ages and strata of society.
