My name's Verity Bell and I've been teaching English for over twenty years. Here's how I became an online GCSE English tutor:First, I taught English language at private language schools and in secondary schools.Then I went into publishing and wrote textbooks to help students learn English.But then, the classroom called again and I taught English language and literature to 11-16 year olds, to get them through their GCSEs.Now I'm using my passion for teaching to offer online GCSE English tuition 1:1.It's a great way of teaching and learning: you'll make rapid progress. That's satisfying for you and it makes my job worthwhile.The thing is … getting a good English GCSE grade is essential:- whatever job you do, you need to be able to communicate effectively.- skills such as writing analytically and thinking critically are very useful.- being able to ‘read between the lines' will help you unlock any text in the future: KNOWLEDGE REALLY IS POWER.most employers require at least a pass.Online GCSE English tuition really doesn't need to be a chore. I love seeing students move on from feeling unmotivated and out of their depth to feeling confident about succeeding in their exam. On the way, they also develop lifelong skills, such as the ability to craft a compelling piece of writing. Some of them even learn to love English!
