We help cure poverty by empowering people to grow, make, sell and eat great chocolate.Enliven international, a non-profit organization, spent 2 years immersed in the La Colonia farming community outside of Rancho Grande in Matagalpa, Nicaragua. We found that the farmers there had no idea of the value of their cacao, having never received anything close to fair market value for their beans. So at their request, and with the help of many other professionals, we taught them how to ferment and dry their own beans. Our main goal now is to get these cacao beans sold to small artisan chocolate makers across the USA so we can get that money back to the community to fund their roads and electricity projects, as well as continuing their gender equality and community leadership programs. These beans tell a great story and make a great bar.
