Enviroot is reinventing the traditional particleboard by creating a healthy, biodegradable, and safe alternative from potato peels.Particle boards have had an enormous influence on furniture design since its introduction in the 1950s. Particle board is cheaper, denser, and more uniform than conventional wood and plywood.However, traditional particleboards use a chemical called formaldehyde. The WHO has recently classified formaldehyde as a carcinogen.The Enviroot Particleboard is created completely without the use of formaldehyde, yet without compromising strength and durability.In addition the Enviroot Particleboard is created using discarded potato peels, creating a useful product from resources that would otherwise find their best use as compost or in waste lagoons.
