ENX is the solution jointly developed and used by the European automotive industry for the secure exchange of critical development-, purchasing- and production control data. The ENX Managed Security Services allow for a cross-company data security while the service levels of the underlying network fulfil the highest quality requirements. To the community of connected users ENX is as open and flexible as the public Internet.ENX Association was founded in 2000. It is a legally independent association of the companies Audi, BMW, Bosch, Continental, Daimler, DGA, Ford, Karmann, PSA Peugeot Citroën, Renault, Smart, Volkswagen and the associations ANFAC (Spain), GALIA (France), SMMT (UK) and VDA (Germany). ENX Association certifies service providers, supervises their service quality, operates central services of the ENX network, supports its users and providers and takes responsibility for the further development of the solution.ENX certified service providers such as BT Global Services, Orange Business Services, T-Systems, Telefónica and Verizon Business provide the user with a bundled service consisting of the ENX security infrastructure and the network access. All accesses have two main features: every user is able to communicate with virtually every other user while running only a single physical access and each of these accesses have identical security features.More than 1000 companies of the automotive industry and the aeronautics branch in over 30 countries use the globally available ENX (December 2009).
