Sports - Lyon, Rhone-Alpes, France
EOSE acts at the European and international levels with the goal to serve as a source of knowledge and a strategic facilitator to support the development of Sport and Active Leisure including employment, sports systems, developing standards, competence, qualifications and Vocational Education and Training (VET).Our work: building bridges between formal, non-formal and informal learning. Indeed the end goal of the activities of EOSE in the sector is to create the conditions to develop a competent workforce (both paid and unpaid) with the right skills through fit for purpose qualifications and/or course. We believe that the sector has the potential to help the society to achieve smarter, more sustainable and inclusive growth only through a better qualified and adaptable workforce. As Dr Calleja (permanent secretary of the Maltese Ministry for Education and Employement, member of the EQF Advisory Board of the EC and of the CEDEFOP Governing Board) said: "Qualifications- occupational standards- quality assurance. It is the functioning of these three sectors within the S&L Sector that will ensure a skilled workforce capable to meeting today's and tomorrow's labour market forces."
