Epoxsea, the HKUST Remotely Operated Vehicle Team, a sub-team of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology Robotics Team has been competing in the annual MATE Hong Kong Regional and International Competition. Over the years the team has developed into a multinational and interdisciplinary team. The team is entirely student-run. Students are in charge of designing, manufacturing, sourcing suppliers as well as budget control and team member recruitment. Through cross training sessions, we hope to provide all team members will a well-rounded understanding of the entire robot. Over the years we have moved away from commercial products to in-house produced software, hardware and mechanics.In order to pass on the team's knowledge we have set up a knowledge database, on which team members share their knowledge with future members. We also provide all new members with extensive training, to enable them to effectively work together with senior members.
