Epsom Downs is home to the World's Greatest Flat Race - the Investec Derby. The race, for three year olds only, has been staged since 1780 and is now held opn the first Saturday in June. This is part of the Investec Derby Festival which featres the Investec Oaks and the Investec Coronation Cup. The two day meeting see's crowds from all over the world descend on the historic venue to take part in the carnival atmosphere, which includes Ladies Day on Friday. with entertainment, pagentary and top class racing this is truely one of the highlights in the Racing and Social year. Outside of this meeting, Epsom stages its ever popular "Live!" nights, where top class music follows a summer evening's racing. Artisis that have been welcomed onto the stage in the past include Blondie, The Baach Boys, JLS, Madness and many more.
