ESA (Equitable Stewardship for Artists) is a unique representation option for talent in the motion picture/television industry, designed to create synergy between the different levels and forms of client representation. ESA was established by veteran agent Paul Alan Smith and veteran entertainment attorney Lee Rosenbaum. Smith's background includes more than 25 years in the television and film business, working his way up from the mailroom to being an agent at Triad Artists, followed by a stint in television programming at Warner Bros. Television and then a return to the agency world at Broder Kurland Webb Uffner and, after a merger, with ICM. Rosenbaum began his practice with the legendary firm of Wyman, Bautzer, Rothman & Kuchel, then moved on to be counsel to Embassy Pictures, senior vice president of legal and business affairs at New World Pictures, and senior vice president of business affairs at Columbia Pictures. He then served of counsel to the firm of Wyman & Isaacs. ESA opened for business in January 2013. Its client list includes J.J. Adler, Adam Arkin, Harry Belafonte, Sanford Bookstaver, Marc Buckland, Charles Burnett, Joe Chappelle, Alex Chapple, Sheelin Choksey, Allen Coulter, Jean de Segonzac, Arthur Forney, Ed Fraiman, Michael Fresco, Mark Horowitz, Mick Jackson, Elodie Keene, Jerry Levine, Leslie Libman, Michael Mayer, Jim McKay, Niels Arden Oplev, Alik Sakharov, Rick Wallace and Dave Zirin.
