This solution has been successfully applied to many projects in various sectors : media, administration, finance (bank & insurance), retail, software publishing, etc.The systems that we transform are most often initially written in Cobol and run on mainframes but other technical environment and programming languages are handled.Our technology is 100% automated. So,the new Java source code is generated from Cobol by our transcoder using lots of techniques of the compiler world. We usually set up our "transcoding factory" by customers in order to transcode any time and so include the last daily maintenance of Cobol in the new Java version. Our projects are run on best DevOps practices.Our transcoding is also fully iso-functional: the Java programs do exactly the same thing "at the bit level" as their Cobol ancestors, including database updates. Consequently, our tooling allows very smooth migration: new Java version is fully up to date with Cobol on a daily basis and, consequently, both Cobol and Java versions can update the same live production database.
