Erice Tourism is a young entrepreneurial venture active in the tourism sector, aimed at organizing tourist and gastronomic itineraries in Erice and the Trapani region. With the patronage of the Erice town council Erice Tourism manages the tourist information service in the historic centre of the medieval village. The tourist services offered range from providing tourists with information and welcoming the visitor (through maps, informative materials and the organization of guided visits to sights of historical, artistic and cultural importance with multilingual staff) to booking (hotels, boat trips to the Egadi Islands and to the Zingaro Nature Reserve, car rental and taxi services, reservations in restaurants and agriturismi, tasting of the excellent food and wine and visits to vineyards and cellars), to ticketing services (museums and public transport).The business works from two locations in the historic centre of Erice-the strategic Gazebo at Porta Trapani and the prestigious Erice Municipal Wine shop. Gazebo Porta Trapani is to be found at the entrance to Porta Trapani, in front of the cable-car station and the main car park, which is also used by bus and Tour Operating companies. The tourist receives maps, brochures and the information necessary to best organize their own stay not only in Erice but also in the surrounding area. The Municipal Wine Shop works both as a tourist information point and as a window onto the territory, dedicated to the promotion of typical gastronomical products and local culture. Various types of activity are organized here (themed evenings, educational seminars), aimed not only at tourists but also at residents, in collaboration with public and private bodies. Moreover, the wine shop offers the opportunity to taste and buy the most exclusive wines of the Trapani region.In 2013 Erice Tourism collaborated with the National Organization of Wine tasters' Trapani Section to promove the wine and vineyards of the Trapani area and of Sicily
