ESN VU Amsterdam Details
ESN VU Amsterdam is the primary caretaker of the international exchange students at VU University Amsterdam. This non-profit student association is entirely managed by student volunteers and is an official partner of VU University's International Office. We have currently more than 750+ active members!We were originally founded by a handful of internationally-minded Dutch students in 1992 as ‘VUniverse'. A couple years ago, we teamed up with the well-known Erasmus Student Network to improve our organisational matters and to expand our network. Our mission is to enhance the experience of exchange students in Amsterdam by organising social and cultural activities and helping the students to prepare for their future.Every year, ESN VU Amsterdam welcomes around 1600 international exchange students at VU University and organises various events for the students throughout the semester. We start every semester with our famous Introduction Weekend. Other activities we organise include the weekly International Student Nights, day trips, cultural events, community events and parties. We aim to create a fruitful community for the students and we help them out where possible along the way!Members of ESN VU Amsterdam, ‘ESNcard' holders, enjoy many discounts throughout Europe since we are part of the larger Erasmus Student Network, which is operating in over 40 countries. The 'ESNcard' also allows students to participate in ESN VU Amsterdam exclusive events.
