eSole is a start-up in the wearable technology eHealthcare sector, with the initial focus on tracking and monitoring those with a high propensity to get lost while undertaking day to day actives, such as those with Alzheimer's and Dementia.eSole is a GPS tracker embedded onto our own custom insole, which can be placed into a person's shoe, with the tracker built in to a supporting arch. Our product has been designed from the ground up, taking in to account the needs and requirements of the end user in a way as to not to break their routine. Our foam rubber insole is being re-designed by a Welsh specialist for maximum comfort. We also have a custom charging pad with anti-trip power cable and a large visibly marked charging area for ease of use. We aim to move our device to be a predictive device to help reduce the financial and human cost of Dementia. Problem we are solving...Dementia is a growing global problem, and in the UK alone there are 850,000 people with the disease. This is set to rise to over 1 million by 2025 and over 2 million by 2050. Globally numbers by 2050 are set to rise to 135 million with the disease. The UK spends £26 billion a year on the disease, of which two thirds is paid for by the individual and/or their families. If someone with Dementia is lost and is not found within the first 24 hours, there is an almost 50% chance this person will not be found alive. Searching for lost or missing individuals with Dementia creates a financial strain on frontline and emergency services such as the police, NHS, private carers and housing associations, with a cost of more than £2,000 per incident.
