The Essex Online Partnership (EOLP) has a membership of County, Unitary, Borough and District Councils across Essex as well as Essex Fire & Rescue and Essex Police.This is a strong partnership, which strives to share knowledge, resource and services to provide technology solutions that support the business needs of each partner organisation and reduce the cost of their technology.Our vision is to strengthen as a virtual county-wide IT function that uses the power and efficiency of the partnership to achieve better results. Expertise and investment can be exploited through joint-commissioning, delivering innovation, agility and resilience across the developing public sector environment. Sharing skills and knowledge will promote our commitment to the ‘Done once shared by many' approach that underpins our vision.As part of the drive to save costs and use our assets more effectively, we are trying to use less space as organisations. We are also sharing more services and need to have the common infrastructure and technology to support this. Flexible, mobile working has swept across organisations and it has been a challenge to implement such a big change in day to day working practices. We will continue to identify and implement common solutions and pilot new technology to support our organisations to change processes and working practises effectively.We currently benefit from being part of the Public Services Network (PSN), which gives us a secure communication channel with government departments and each other.Cyber Security has become a high profile issue nationally and security breaches are a threat to all organisations. EOLP recognise that this needs to be addressed and continue to monitor developments to ensure that we share our knowledge and expertise to keep Essex authorities as safe as possible. The Partnership presents itself as a strong alliance to share solutions, knowledge and skills in this area to exploit the right technology
