The Greek definition of Ethos means literally "character". It was commonly used by Aristotle to describe characters in plays that could "inspire trust in their audience" (Rhetorica 1380). Today we have used it to definite the characteristic spirit of a culture, era, or community. As our technology continues to grow, we are expanding our concept of community. In doing so, changing our ways of communicating with one another, building relationships, and inspiring trust with one another. But just as the cultures and civilizations before us, our dearest values, those closest to home, are what persist and bond our lives together- Loyalty, Honesty, Trust, Fidelity, Care, Excellence- many of the central values to the real estate profession.
