EURAMA (the Euro-Asian Society of Breast Diseases) was constituted in 2010 by Professor Umberto Veronesi andProfessor Stefano Zurrida. EURAMA exists to promote the transfer of breast knowledge and know-how to all countries of the world, so to combat the disease more effectively. It aims to alert doctors and womento the growing global problem of breast cancer (2 million new cases per year expected in 2020), otherwise technology transfer will be ineffective.Our aim is to bring together scientists, surgeons,oncologists, radiotherapists, pathologists, nuclear medicinephysicians, nurses and, of course, women from Europe andAsia to defeat breast cancer by:- promoting scientific research on and increase awareness ofbreast diseases; to disseminate information in Europe andAsia on methods for preventing, diagnosing and treatingbreast cancer.- making proposals to National Health Authorities that aimat reducing the incidence of breast cancer and deaths due tobreast cancer, in Eurasia.Such proposals will include the setting up of studyprogrammes and specialization courses in the field of breastdiseases.
