EuroAsia Interconnector Details

EuroAsia Interconnector is a leading European Union Project of Common Interest (No. 3.10/2013/2015/2017/2019), labelled as an "electricity highway" by the European Commission, connecting the national grids of Israel, Cyprus and Greece, and creating a reliable energy bridge between Europe and Asia.The 2,000MW-capacity cable allows bi-directional transmission of electricity, builds bridges between continents and contributes significantly to the social welfare, national prosperity and economic well-being of the citizens of all countries involved through investments and benefits estimated at 10 bln euros.As a European Union PCI, it enjoys the full support of the European Commission, the European Parliament and EU Member States, is an integral part of the Connecting Europe Facility to boost energy, transport and digital infrastructure between 2014 and 2020, and contributes to the EU's energy and climate goals.
