Robin worked as a mechanic throughout the Manawatu and in 1982 he purchased the K.S. Grant Motors workshop in Palmerston North. After 9 years he brought a building on the corner of Carroll and Featherston Street and relocated. This provided the first opportunity to sell vehicles. Robin quickly picked up the Audi, Fiat, Alfa Romeo and Citroen agencies and in 1997 an opportunity arose to take on the Suzuki franchise and sales have improved every year. In 2008 Eurocar Suzuki was New Zealand's second top Suzuki provincial dealer. Eurocar Suzuki is a family run business. Robin Kidd's son, Stephen, returned from Amsterdam in 2007 to run the Sales department. Robins daughter, Donna Kidd, returned from London in 2007 , she is now the office manager.
