The Every Canadian Counts (ECC) Coalition is an emerging group of individuals and organizations committed to addressing the disability supports crisis in Canada. Many Canadians living with disabilities (and their caregivers) are forced to go to extreme lengths to access essential supports and services such as housing, therapeutic and skills programs, respite care, and assistive devices. Bankruptcy, homelessness, hospitalizations, and relinquishing care are increasingly common. No Canadian is immune from disability, and whether you're born with disability or acquire it through illness or injury, ECC believes we all deserve to have supports if and when we need them, without having to go into crisis.We envision a national program that will ensure Canadians living with long-term, chronic disabilities have access to essential disability supports and services, regardless of where they live, their income, or personal connections.
