The Evidence Network of Canadian Health Policy, commonly known as EvidenceNetwork.ca, is a non-partisan web-based project funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research and the Manitoba Health Research Council to make the latest evidence on controversial health policy issues available to the media. EvidenceNetwork.ca links journalists with health policy experts to provide access to credible, evidence-based information. We also create original media articles, podcasts, videos and inforgraphics -- more than 1200 since 2011 -- which are published widely in almost every major media outlet across the country. We have a network of independent, highly-qualified researchers and experts across the country who respond to requests for information and interviews quickly to meet deadlines. EvidenceNetwork.ca provides information on timely topics and breaking health policy stories. We aim to make sense of the often complex and controversial issues facing Canadians and their healthcare system. Why? Because the public debate around health policy is important to Canadians. An informed, non-partisan interface between healthcare research and media is key to enriching the public dialogue about current controversial health policy issues.
