Excelle Sports is the brainchild of three women who are lifelong passionate, competitive athletes and sports fans. When the initial idea of "covering women's sports" came up we assumed there were already many sites doing that, but, to our shock, there was almost nothing out there. The few sites that existed were either primarily covering the big sports, were focused on one sport, or were in the UK. We realized that we could be the first ones to cover a vast range of women's sports year round, not just during the Olympics or World Cup. We know that thousands of amazing athletes are training, competing and making history throughout the year, and their stories are endless and amazing.The result of all our hard work is Excelle Sports, offering news, features, profiles, interviews, video, and a curated marketplace. Much more will be added in the coming months, including scores and rankings, editorial series, expert advice on training, nutrition and sports injuries, post-college leagues and other resources.We created Excelle for all the girls and women who play sports, and the boys and men who encourage and follow them. It is for the athletes who live in the vast, passionate world that is women's sports – junior, high school, college, post-college, pro and Olympic.The editorial team at Excelle – made up of industry veterans, pro athletes, and other sports-obsessed journalists – will be reporting the news and telling the stories of the individual stars, rising talents, teams, coaches, and icons.Join our growing community of women and men around the globe, who understand what it takes to be a true competitor, and are as impressed by female athletes as they are by male.
