The Executive Wellness Group (EWG) was Salt Lake City and San Diego's premiere network of certified wellness providers representing dozens of different modalities including massage, yoga, personal training, nutrition, and personal chef services. We focused exclusively on serving high level business executives suffering from acute physical injuries, chronic fatigue, unnecessary weight gain, and/or emotional/physical burnout. Our company acted as the marketing and sales arm for our network of certified practitioners.Aside from having success with some creative Direct Response Marketing campaigns using print media and direct mail, our primary marketing innovation involved setting up a network of carefully selected retail affiliates who placed our P.O.S. (point of sale) display units at each cash register. They got a split of the revenue along with a way to track sales. Thanks to our unique and compelling visual display and pricing structure, customers at checkout at these retail locations (wedding and party supply stores, flower shops, chocolatiers, book stores, and gift shops) were frequently inspired to make a last minute purchase for our pre-paid wellness packages. We proved the efficacy of this model long before mainstream retail outlets caught on to the power of pre-selling gift cards –– as is commonly seen nowadays at POS displays in the majority of large retail chains and convenience stores around the world.
