Over 600 patients with blood cancer and related conditions are treated at the RD&E's Haematology Centre each week. The main types of blood cancer are leukaemia, lymphoma and myeloma; related conditions include myelodysplastic syndromes and myeloproliferative neoplasms. Each person will experience their illness in a different way, with many requiring treatment over several years. These are life-changing conditions, affecting not only the patient but all those close to them. Exeter Leukaemia Fund (Elf) offers free individualised support to everyone who needs it. Our aim is to make life easier and less stressful during what can be a very difficult time. We offer transport to and from the hospital, counselling, financial advice, befriending and practical support in the patient's home, and accommodation for families needing to stay overnight. Please help us continue our work providing much-needed support for patients with blood cancer and their families.
