International Affairs - Exeter, England, United Kingdom
The Exeter University Model United Nations Society is, as the name suggests, a debating society that operates as a model of the real UN, with the same procedures and a debating style focused on national policy and political knowledge, rather than necessarily your own opinions and rhetorical skills (although these are important too!).In our friendly weekly sessions we'll train you up in the rules of debate used by the UN, and give you the opportunity to practice with training debates on everything from the North Korean nuclear program through deforestation in South America to Santa Claus' rights as an international citizen in our Christmas debate. Then, when you feel you're ready, you can attend one of many international MUN conferences around the world, attended by a raft of Model UN societies across the country from schools and universities, and debate competitively with like-minded people who you'll form a strong bond with, even while threatening to sanction their nation or conspiring to lower trade tariffs. We welcome both MUN veterans and first timers, and look forward to seeing you all soon!
