Exmouth Wild Prawns is family owned and operated prawn fishery based in Exmouth, Western Australia. The company was established in 1963 by Michael George Kailis and over the years has become recognised as one of the best managed sustainable fisheries in the world being rewarded with MSC certification. We are part of MG Kailis Seafood, a global seafood company, who also catches fish from the pristine waters of Australia's North-West and operates in the only hand-caught tropical rock lobster fishery in the Torres Strait. Exmouth Wild Prawns are lucky enough to be the sole operator and owner of all licenses in the Exmouth Gulf Fishery. This is unique and sets a culture among our fisherman because for us it isn't about trying to catch more than the person before or after us, it is our pond, and we want to look after it. We are here to get the best outcome for this year, next year and the next ten years. This isn't just a job for us, our fisherman are there for long-haul, they care about the environment and have a love for the ocean. We are lucky to work in an amazing environment that produces absolutely everything.
