Extra Ed is a social enterprise that provides financial literacy programs in public, private, and parochial schools across the GTA, including Toronto, York Region and Peel. Our aim is to help students develop into financially, socially, and environmentally responsible citizens of not only our country, but of the world as a whole.Extra Ed's overarching goal is to teach our youth essential life skills that have an immediate and lasting impact. While we believe that the technical subject matter covered in our financial literacy programs goes a long way toward achieving this objective, we take it a step further by embedding in all of our curriculums inspiring and empowering messages that encourage students to know who they are, to be true to who they are, and to think ahead in every way. It is our firm belief that technical knowledge alone is meaningless unless accompanied by character educational components which connect the materials the students learn directly to their lives, to their values, and to the world around them.Extra Ed is also an organization whose mission is to be exemplary and impactful in all aspects of its operations when it comes to the environment. From discussions on how money management can impact the world around us in our financial literacy programs to planting native species of trees wherever we operate, and much, much more, our aim is to make a difference both inside and outside the classroom.
